| 1. Recovered trunk 1993, first ramification,
five months. |
2. We can see the ramification is now richer, the branches
almost have enough caliber to be wired, for this is an olive tree. Olive
trees differ from coniferous which are nicer when bending their branches.
It is more difficult to bend and to give movement to olive trees, specially
when branches have a certain calibre, thus they start to be wired when they
are about 5mm thick. |
3. First design. Too many branches. It should be borne
in mind that when they all grow and form green masses they will not all
fit in and we will not be able to notice the space between them. |
4. I am now sure of the apex and future of the tree. I
remove the exceeding branches. In the future one more may exceed. |
5. It has a good green mass and the tree begins
to be appreciable. |
6. Detail of the trunk fashioned by nature. |
7. The tree in the garden on a tray which is not the final. |
8. I change the tray and head the 1997 Ginko Award where
I obtain the first prize. It was an unforgettable night. Mallorcan olive
trees are famous ever since. All the bonsai fans profited from this, for
there are Mallorcan olive trees all over Spain and abroad since then, of
which I feel proud. |
